In the middle of summer, no one wants to start thinking about business slowing down. However, if you prepare now, business won’t be all that slow. While your customers may not be swarming in for dive trips like they do in July, late summer and early fall is the perfect time to focus on your sales and training!
When is the last time you replaced your rental gear? If you’ve had it longer than 24 months, this is the time to replace it. After 24 months it has paid for itself and it’s time to refresh your inventory.
Take advantage of this time to up your marketing and remind your customers of the vast array of trainings and certifications you offer. Whether it’s in the classroom or an e-learning course, keep your customers involved.
Use this as an opportunity to market a different product or service you’ve acquired. Maybe you decided to get some dive bags in your inventory or you’re offering a free snorkeling e-learning course with purchases of masks and/or fins.
Keep in mind, this time of year, add-on sales are more important than ever. Your existing customers are already in your store. Offer them special packages for next season, or products and services to get them ready for next season.
Don’t wait for the busy season to end to step up your game and get your pipeline set up for the late summer and fall.
